How do I get to Bundanoon?

The Bundanoon Folk Festival is held in and around the lovely village of Bundanoon in the Southern Highlands of NSW.

By road

Bundanoon is 25 mins from the Hume Highway.  It is only 1.45 hrs from both Sydney and Canberra, 7.30 hrs from Melbourne.  Regionally, it is 2.5hrs from Bateman’s Bay via the Kings Highway, and 1.15hrs from Wollongong via the Illawarra Highway and 50 mins from Goulburn.

By rail

Bundanoon is on the Southern Highlands railway line, 2 hours from both Sydney and Canberra. Timetables and bookings through Transport NSW  Book here

Festival bus

There will be dedicated Festival Buses to ferry patrons, performers, and volunteers between the various festival venues and the campground leaving at regular intervals.

What is the weather like in November?

Daytime temperatures are very pleasant during the day with an average maximum of 23.4 deg C.  We are at an altitude of 700 metres, so it can be quite cool at night with an average minimum of 14.3 deg C.  It is usually dry but come prepared for rain and occasional storm.  Bring layered clothing and your raincoat.

What is in Bundanoon?

Bundanoon village has a large hotel, a club, service station (with ATM), pharmacy, doctors’ surgeries, cafes and restaurants, specialty shops and a local IGA supermarket.  There is a very popular community shop – The Good Yarn stocked with local produce, handmade crafts and preloved household items.  The Bundanoon Post Office and chemist are open Saturday morning.   It is a 20 minute drive to the larger township of Moss Vale.

Bundanoon is a 5 minute drive to the spectacular Morton National Park.  The famous Glow Worm Glen is an evening walk of about an hour.     

Can I bring my pets? Please don’t.

The Bundanoon Festival has a strict no pets at both the campground and venues.  We have no facilities for their care and if you bring your pet you will be asked to leave. Companion animals are welcome with appropriate documentation. Please advise us at registration.
